“A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.”
~ Tenneva Jordan
On May 5th & 6th we hosted our first Mother’s Day Event at our new
Lovesome Images studio.
It was so much fun & I was completely in awe of how each Mom or group came to the event either by word of mouth, advertising or Facebook with absolute certainty that this was what they needed for this particular Mother’s Day 2012.
Right here. Right now.
It was a beautiful thing.
To see the excitement, the preparation, and the way that each session had it’s own unique flavor was fascinating.
These Mom’s were, of course, extremely ORGANIZED.
We all know what it takes to get out of the house, washed & dressed & camera ready.
It takes tremendous planning and a healthy does of patience.
The children (of all ages) were amazingly ready ~ dressed appropriately for “them”, each one absolutely bribed with what they would be able to do or have when they’re done and “did a good job cooperating”.
But, more than anything, there, in that moment, they were there for their
Mother, Mom, Mommy, Madre, Mama, Mamasita…
Just because…to capture not only a “photo”, but a gleam in their eye, a precious love, a way to remember this forever bond like no other, for years to come…to savor, go back to again and again to know it’s there.
I chose to have a Mother’s Day promotion because this is probably the one image that most Mom’s don’t get to have unless it can be offered to them and easy to obtain.
It’s something that I asked for for Mother’s Day, too, because that is what I really wanted more than anything…to remember this day…this time…and have something tangible for my boys…
to be able to see us in a light that honors this relationship & bond.
I promise to share that photo when I finally get it…
But for now, I get to share these wonderful images with you from this event & I hope to see you there next year!
…and that’s a wrap!
